Happy birthday, dear N.! (One day, I will ramble about why I love La muerte y el jardin so much, but for now, have a little bit of Silvio and Luis dancing ♥).
Manner of Death omake: because Alan’s too organized to doodle on paperwork, but Joe definitely draws little pictures of Quincy on various things (napkins, backs of receipts, &c.) and Alan keeps finding them :).
For Manner of Death by Nijiiro Sumi, out now in Shousetsu Bang Bang #42.
(In lieu of any easter eggs - there is a goof in this picture that you’ll able to find if you read the story. And there will be an omake for this one :D.)
edit: please click to see the high-res, the preview looks absolutely horrible (or is it just me?..)
My chest hurts.
Please forgive the horrible typography. Texts: ##1&4 - Your Only Doll (Dora) by Laura Marling; overwhelmingly positive message in #2 - The Traveller.
Always wanted to do a bag meme.
• Things I forgot to put on it: hairbrush
• Umbrella is automatic, also metal, and goddamn heavy
• That bag is, like, an ordinary ladies handbag, medium-sized
• I used to carry regular spools of thread, but after my boss had more or less stolen one (borrowed it and a needle and never gave them back), I started using ice cream sticks with small amounts of thread. Either no one would want to steal them or if someone does, it won’t be much of a loss
• (Yes, I am stingy. Borrowed something? Either give it back or carry your own and don’t ask)
• Magnetic screwdriver is a girl’s best friend
Testing this monster (Pure Squirrel #5. Comparison: my old trusty nameless #3, also squirrel). That brush is magic.
Four-colour study: cadmium orange, cadmium red pale, turquoise, payne’s gray.
More doodles: brushpen, calligraphy ink, acrylics, paint markers. Not a lot of active brain participation :).
Illustrations for jibrailis’ story Glaive and Hill and the Matter of the Sapphic Society, out now in Shousetsu Bang Bang femslash special.
A bit of cover detail. I’d like to think these two bonded over their love for SSBB’s femslash specials - the newest is out now!

Moar warm-ups. I keep butchering this sketchbook, and it keeps being absolutely fantastic (for everything other than watercolour, that is).
No sketch before brushpen, references used. (Corrected myself in blue afterwards).
A bit of a warm-up. This book is excellent with brushpen and even paint markers…
(Notice how terrible I am with both typography and design XD)
No-sketch watercolour practice. Based (quite obviously) on this photoset.
I love Payne’s Gray.
Testing new sketchbooks. Top row: Derwent Big Book (110 gsm), sadly too thin for anything but sketches (unless the other side of the painting is covered up - collage?). Bottom row - Derwent Black Journal (200 gsm). Too slick for pencil for my taste, but good for… pretty much anything, I guess.
